Redskins TE Fred Davis has concussion

Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan said Monday that tight end Fred Davis suffered a concussion during Sunday's loss to the Rams. He did not say specifically when Davis got hurt. Davis caught just two passes for 14 yards on five targets in the game.

Fantasy Analysis:

Must be a really fun day around Redskins headquarters today. They lose to the Rams, a loss that was contributed to by a supremely stupid, selfish act by wide receiver Josh Morgan on the final meaningful play. Then they put two of the best players in their defensive front seven on injured reserve, and now Davis is out indefinitely. As with every player who suffers a concussion, Davis will need to pass a series of tests and be cleared by doctors. He might be able to go in Week 3 versus the Cincinnati Bengals, but considering he has caught just four passes in two games, Davis is not a strong option.

Update: I just saw the Davis hit again -- I remember watching it live but I didn't remember when it took place. It occurred with a little less than five minutes to go in the fourth quarter and should have been flagged for an illegal hit to the head but wasn't. That was a trend yesterday. I can recall four or five plays that should have been whistled as personal fouls, illegal hit to the head or leading with your helmet, and nothing happened. Replacement refs, yo.
