Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles injures left knee, expected to be ready in Week 3

The last time Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles @jcharles25 injured his left knee during Week 2 of an NFL season, we didn't see him for the rest of the year. Charles did sustain a knee injury Sunday, but it's nowhere near as serious, according to head coach Romeo Crennel.
"He got banged up a little bit and then (the Chiefs) decided not to put him back in the game," Crennel said of Charles. "He wanted to go back. He wanted to go back in ... but the other guys were doing OK, so we left the other guys in. ... He was getting treatment, so I think he'll be ready to play this week."
Charles was spotted riding an exercise bike near the end of the first half with the Chiefs driving. He returned in the third quarter but rested in the fourth quarter with the game out of hand. Charles rushed for just three yards on six carries and gained 22 yards on nine total touches.

Fantasy Analysis:

Those "other guys" are Peyton Hillis @thepeytonhillis and Shaun Draughn @2ShaunDraughn0. Hillis ran for 66 yards on 11 carries while Draughn ran for 56 yards on five carries. Even though it came when the game's result had already been decided, Draughn might have earned a few weekly touches in future games. It looks like Charles won't be topping 20 touches much this season, but if he is active Sunday, he should be in your lineup as the Chiefs face the Saints, who allowed three rushing scores in Week 2.
