Packers running back James Starks is nearing a return to action after missing more than a month due to turf toe. The Steelers must be hoping that the same timetable doesn't await running back Jonathan Dwyer
, but he does have turf toe, according to Mike Bires of the Beaver County Times.
Fantasy Analysis:
Other than the Steelers' bad run-blocking line, this might explain why Dwyer rushed for just 28 yards on 12 carries versus the Jets. It's an injury that could affect him for weeks, perhaps the rest of the season. Considering that Isaac Redman
unexpectedly got as many carries as Dwyer in Week 2, and Rashard Mendenhall
is getting closer to playing again -- he is expected to practice in pads this week for the first time since undergoing knee surgery -- this is a backfield to avoid. I know Pittsburgh has a great matchup against the Raiders this week, but I don't know whom to trust right now between Dwyer and Redman. A long-term needs to occur for me to become interested in this situation again.
