The Bills are looking for an option to replace wide receiver David Nelson, who was put on injured reserve last week. Quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick thinks that option can be tight end Scott Chandler
, both in the red zone and between the 20s.
"I think how comfortable I am with [Chandler] running his routes, the communication we have, and really he's just a huge target," Fitzpatrick said. "That makes a big difference down there in the red zone. He's done a great job for us, not only in the red zone but on the field in terms of being a real viable threat in the passing game.
"We will have to lean on Scott even more. I think he welcomes that. I think that's something we feel good about because he's a great receiver."
Fantasy Analysis:
Pardon me while a fight back a laugh. Yes, Chandler remains a huge touchdown target, but only a touchdown target. He has six catches this season, and his two touchdowns have come from inside the 10-yard line. He can't get it done elsewhere on the field because he just doesn't have the speed or agility to beat defenders in wide areas. Don't buy in here. There are plenty of other tight ends who will get more usage all over the field. A couple of popular pickups this week, Martellus Bennett and Dennis Pitta, come to mind.
