Buffalo Bills running back Fred Jackson
should be very happy about his injured knee after a successful "range-of-motion examination showed his lateral collateral ligament will not require surgery," according to The Buffalo News. Jackson should be back "in the earlier part" of his original three- to eight-week diagnosis. In addition, he should be able to begin light running very soon.
Fantasy Analysis:
Jackson can't seem to catch a break after finishing the 2011 season injured, then he immediately gets hurt again. This injury is legitimate too and really, the door has swung wide open for RB C.J. Spiller
. As mentioned in a previous update, the Bills' running game hits a new level with Spiller out there with his speed and acceleration. Jackson can certainly grind out tough yards but Spiller is the guy everybody wants on their fantasy squad now. Should Jackson return in a month or so, there's just no way he sees more than a change-of-pace role assuming Spiller continues to play well.
