Giants RB Andre Brown to see heavy workload Thursday night

Since New York Giants running back Ahmad Bradshaw @AhmadBradshaw has been unable to practice this week because of a neck injury, third-year back Andre Brown @drebrown35 out of North Carolina State is "expected to take the majority of carries." Brown's recent emergence comes at the expense of rookie RB David Wilson @4stillRunning who still appears to be in the dog house of head coach Tom Coughlin after losing a fumble in Week 1. Brown handled 15 touches in Week 2, totaling 90 yards and a score.

Fantasy Analysis:

Brown was out of the league in 2011 and was on the roster of four different teams in 2010 after initially being drafted by the Giants in 2009. The Baltimore, MD native deserves a spot on fantasy rosters in the short-term as long as he's able to hold down the RB1 gig. All it takes apparently is one fumble though so hopefully he can show good ball-security in Week 3 against the Carolina Panthers.

I am debating playing Andre Brown or Kenny Britt in my OP spot? I am in a league were we are awarded 1 pt for every 10 yds receiving for WR and running for RB, 6 pts for TD's. Thoughts???

I would without a doubt start Brown over Britt. I have the choice of starting Stephen Jackson (banged up) or Andrew Brown or Dwayne Bowe (plays Saints) in my flex spot. I also get 1 pt per 10 yds and 6 for TDs. Thoughts?

This article is wrong -- Brown wasn't out of the league in 2011. He was on the Giants and he got a Super Bowl ring.

Anyway, I picked him up in my league and am going to start him as my RB2 over Chris Johnson and Cedric Benson. Let's hope for big things!

What about this situation - I can start 3 of the following players; Chris Johnson, Doug Martin, Ben-Jarvus Green Ellis, Andre Brown. I also have Jacquizz Rodgers, Dexter McCluster (who is a RB/WR in my league) and Beanie Wells.

Do I start Andre Brown over CJ2K, Martin, or the Law Firm, or do I keep Brown on the bench?

JOL 09/19/12 02:31 PM

2 of these 3. Recommendations?
Andre Brown
Doug Martin
Ray Rice.

Thanks

Who should I use this week: Andre Brown or Ryan Matthews?

Posted by:
dwayneamir 09/19/12 04:32 PM

Matthews if he plays

qringer 09/19/12 05:54 PM

PC Hitmen: Def Brown over Britt til the TN WR proves he is in game shape...
jas1702: I'd roll with Bowe - Cassel is playing well, and the Saints D looks bad so far .....
JOL: Lean on Martin, Brown and the LawFirm... all 3 teams can and will score points.....
infodoc; Nice problem... Id sit Brown. Rice is automatic, and I like Martin a little more than Brown... both should do well

PPR league help, Andre Brown or Alfred Morris?

Posted by:
jayrel12 09/19/12 07:32 PM

I have Andre Brown, Stevie Johnson, Isaac Redman and Michael Crabtree. I can choose only one for my PPR scoring, 6 point TDs and 10 yards a point. Who should I start?

Just picked up Andre Brown. Which two do I start week 3 out of these four?

Brown, McFadden, Chris Johnson (probably sitting him), and Frank Gore.

I seriously can't decide between Jamal Charles or Brown..I wanted to make sure Charles was in top form before deciding but of course Brown plays tomorrow....I just have a feeling they might limit Charles' workflow...Suggestions?

I have steven jackson, daryl richardson and larry fitzgerald. Would you trade any of these for welker?

Posted by:
Parker197 09/19/12 10:28 PM

Would you guys start Donald Brown or Andre Brown this week?

Posted by:
sondo12 09/19/12 10:36 PM

^Easy...I'd take Brown over Brown

Posted by:
Jer21 09/19/12 10:48 PM

I like Andre Brown over Charles, Donald Brown, CJ, Stevie J, Crabtree, and Redman.

I think you should start A Brown and Gore and sit CJ and D Mac bc hes playing the Steelers.

I had Nix go out so I have to start Bowe so

now I have perhaps the toughest one yet...........

Steven Jackson or Andre Brown???

jas1702 09/19/12 10:58 PM

I prob would take Alfred over Andre though, jayrel.

PPR league cant decide on AP vs san fran or picking up Andre brown and starting him
Any thoughts???

Posted by:
rmhendricks89 09/20/12 12:42 AM

You don't draft AP so you can put him on your bench for a waive wire pickup.

Posted by:
login 09/20/12 03:12 AM

Yeah definitely don't sit Peterson out...if you drafted him, use him. Brown is a decent flex option unless your RBs are mediocre.

Posted by:
Jer21 09/20/12 04:08 AM

I will however, be using Brown instead of Charles...was a tough decision but I just don't think Charles will get the touches I want or need him to get.

Peterson, T Richardson, A Brown, K Smith, Forte, M Leshoure.. need to start 3

Posted by:
Biggasman 09/20/12 06:26 AM

Ok 3 options..

Arian Foster is playing for sure but the second slot is up for grabs.

I have available, Trent Richardson, Marshawn Lynch, or Andre Brown.???????????????????????????

Posted by:
vroomin350 09/20/12 09:38 AM

Need to replace A Bradshaw. Can start two of these three; Mark Ingram, Cedric Benson and Beanie Wells. Your thoughts? Also, may have the opportunity to pick-up Andre Brown. Would need to drop Ingram, Benson or Wells. Thanks....

Posted by:
TeamTatman 09/20/12 10:15 AM

Pick 2:

Darren McFadden vs. Steelers
Darren Sproles vs KC
Doug Martin vs Dallas
Andre Brown vs. Carolina

Posted by:
R.Pgh 09/20/12 10:22 AM

@ TeamTatman - I would avoid Benson because Seattle has a very good run D. Since Brown is only a short term option, not sure I'd drop any of those guys you mentioned, but that's your call. Leaves you with Ingram and Wells.

Posted by:
R.Pgh 09/20/12 10:30 AM

I have David Wilson and Andre Brown on my team....Which do I start this week....or do I start both since my RB1 is Doug Martin going against a stiff Dallas D?

Posted by:
LacesOut1 09/20/12 11:19 AM

Andre Brown or Stevie Johnson? Brown is the obvious pick, but I already have Eli and Cruz - start all 3 against Carolina?

Posted by:
labrats 09/20/12 11:38 AM

What was your guys take again about Starting either Andre Brown or Alfred Morris

Posted by:
smoothd112 09/20/12 01:15 PM

@ LacesOut - Go w/ Brown. He's supposed to be the starter and will likely get more carries. Plus, I can see him being the goal line back over Wilson since his fumble a couple weeks ago

@labrats - I also hate starting too many people from the same team. This all depends on how many WR's you start. Assuming this is for a flex position, I'd go with Johnson vs. Cleveland, but again, that's just me not liking to start a QB, WR, and RB all from the same team.

@Smoothd - I go w/ Brown. He's the starting RB (for now) and will likely get the goal line carries. Plus, aside from Shannahans usual RBBC, Morris is also battling carries with RG3 who had 11 car / 80+ yards last week. Who knows who will run more for them this week.

Now if you all would be so kind:

Pick 2:

Darren McFadden vs. Steelers
Darren Sproles vs KC
Doug Martin vs Dallas
Andre Brown vs. Carolina

Posted by:
R.Pgh 09/20/12 01:24 PM

@RPgh - Martin and Brown. PIT has strong run D and OAK will fall behind and start throwing.
Sproles is one of many weapons. Martin and Brown are guaranteed starts with 15-20 touches.

Posted by:
labrats 09/20/12 01:47 PM

Brown or Martin???

Posted by:
googes 09/20/12 02:48 PM

Alright so im screwed. RB1 is RIce no problem there. RB2 is Steven Jackson.... uh oh 2 days of missed practice, fisher doesn't like him and going up against stingy Chicago run D. I was outbid on brown and richardson.... thinking about starting David Wilson in hope that Brown fumbles... or take the risk with a banged up SJ against Chicago?

Posted by:
amp1080 09/20/12 04:23 PM

Can't decide, definitely going with MJD, Harvin & Wayne in PPR league... still need a RB2 and FLEX from BJGE / Jamaal Charles / Mike Wallace & Andre Brown. Thinking of passing on Brown & deciding again on Sunday. Who to start at RB2 & Flex?

Posted by:
relennon21 09/20/12 05:13 PM

Peterson, T Richardson, A Brown, K Smith, Forte, M Leshoure.. need to start 3

Posted by:
Biggasman 09/20/12 06:30 PM

Need some help. Pick 3:

Darren McFadden
Gore
McCoy
Andre brown
