Giants RB Andre Brown to see heavy workload Thursday night

Since New York Giants running back Ahmad Bradshaw has been unable to practice this week because of a neck injury, third-year back Andre Brown out of North Carolina State is "expected to take the majority of carries." Brown's recent emergence comes at the expense of rookie RB David Wilson who still appears to be in the dog house of head coach Tom Coughlin after losing a fumble in Week 1. Brown handled 15 touches in Week 2, totaling 90 yards and a score.

Fantasy Analysis:

Brown was out of the league in 2011 and was on the roster of four different teams in 2010 after initially being drafted by the Giants in 2009. The Baltimore, MD native deserves a spot on fantasy rosters in the short-term as long as he's able to hold down the RB1 gig. All it takes apparently is one fumble though so hopefully he can show good ball-security in Week 3 against the Carolina Panthers.

I am debating playing Andre Brown or Kenny Britt in my OP spot? I am in a league were we are awarded 1 pt for every 10 yds receiving for WR and running for RB, 6 pts for TD's. Thoughts???

I would without a doubt start Brown over Britt. I have the choice of starting Stephen Jackson (banged up) or Andrew Brown or Dwayne Bowe (plays Saints) in my flex spot. I also get 1 pt per 10 yds and 6 for TDs. Thoughts?

This article is wrong -- Brown wasn't out of the league in 2011. He was on the Giants and he got a Super Bowl ring.

Anyway, I picked him up in my league and am going to start him as my RB2 over Chris Johnson and Cedric Benson. Let's hope for big things!

What about this situation - I can start 3 of the following players; Chris Johnson, Doug Martin, Ben-Jarvus Green Ellis, Andre Brown. I also have Jacquizz Rodgers, Dexter McCluster (who is a RB/WR in my league) and Beanie Wells.

Do I start Andre Brown over CJ2K, Martin, or the Law Firm, or do I keep Brown on the bench?

I seriously can't decide between Jamal Charles or Brown..I wanted to make sure Charles was in top form before deciding but of course Brown plays tomorrow....I just have a feeling they might limit Charles' workflow...Suggestions?

I like Andre Brown over Charles, Donald Brown, CJ, Stevie J, Crabtree, and Redman.

I think you should start A Brown and Gore and sit CJ and D Mac bc hes playing the Steelers.

I had Nix go out so I have to start Bowe so

now I have perhaps the toughest one yet...........

You don't draft AP so you can put him on your bench for a waive wire pickup.

Yeah definitely don't sit Peterson out...if you drafted him, use him. Brown is a decent flex option unless your RBs are mediocre.

@ TeamTatman - I would avoid Benson because Seattle has a very good run D. Since Brown is only a short term option, not sure I'd drop any of those guys you mentioned, but that's your call. Leaves you with Ingram and Wells.

@ LacesOut - Go w/ Brown. He's supposed to be the starter and will likely get more carries. Plus, I can see him being the goal line back over Wilson since his fumble a couple weeks ago

@labrats - I also hate starting too many people from the same team. This all depends on how many WR's you start. Assuming this is for a flex position, I'd go with Johnson vs. Cleveland, but again, that's just me not liking to start a QB, WR, and RB all from the same team.

@Smoothd - I go w/ Brown. He's the starting RB (for now) and will likely get the goal line carries. Plus, aside from Shannahans usual RBBC, Morris is also battling carries with RG3 who had 11 car / 80+ yards last week. Who knows who will run more for them this week.

@RPgh - Martin and Brown. PIT has strong run D and OAK will fall behind and start throwing.
Sproles is one of many weapons. Martin and Brown are guaranteed starts with 15-20 touches.

Alright so im screwed. RB1 is RIce no problem there. RB2 is Steven Jackson.... uh oh 2 days of missed practice, fisher doesn't like him and going up against stingy Chicago run D. I was outbid on brown and richardson.... thinking about starting David Wilson in hope that Brown fumbles... or take the risk with a banged up SJ against Chicago?
