San Diego Chargers RB Ryan Mathews
was described as being "on a mission" during the off-season and now that he's looking like a lock to play in Week 3, it's time for him to validate his position as his team's best offensive playmaker. After breaking his clavicle on his first pre-season carry, Mathews is back on track and the Chargers would like to give him at least 25 carries per game and a few receptions for good measure.
Fantasy Analysis:
San Diego's inability to run the ball better not carry over into Week 3. Mathews should take this offense to another level. Fantasy owners have short memories and for those who have forgotten, Mathews could still easily be 2012's top fantasy back even after missing two games. With no production coming from his backups, San Diego is going to ride their workhorse as far as he can take them. If Mathews struggles in Week 3, buy him low.
