Ravens wide receiver Torrey Smith
has left the team's hotel after his younger brother Tevin died early this morning in a motorcycle accident. It is unknown if Smith will play against the Patriots in the Sunday night game. But according to ESPN's Sal Paolantonio, Smith has told head coach John Harbaugh that still he wants to play, and the Ravens are leaving that decision up to him.
Fantasy Analysis:
Wow. First of all, everyone should have Smith in their thoughts today. It seems cruel to talk about what this means for fantasy purposes, but that's why we're here. If Smith does play, he could either be motivated or distracted. However, since this is a very late kickoff, and we don't know if Smith will actually suit up, I would err on the side of caution and take Smith out of your lineup. That is unless you can afford to wait on Smith and have another viable Sunday night or Monday night option on your bench. Otherwise, don't risk getting a zero. If Smith sits this one out, bump up Anquan Boldin
, Dennis Pitta and Jacoby Jones
.
