Beat writer gives St. Louis' offensive line failing grade

St. Louis Post-Dispatch columnist Jeff Gordon handed out grades to each position on the St. Louis Rams. Most notably, he slapped the offensive line with a failing grade. He noted that, "the makeshift unit played disastrously, failing to open holes for the running game and protect [Sam] Bradford in the passing game." Add a "C-" for the running backs and a "D" for the quarterback and it's easy to identify that the Rams lost in Week 3 handily to the Chicago Bears, 23-6.

Fantasy Analysis:

Even with a healthy Steven Jackson @sj39, this offensive unit isn't going to produce much at the RB spot. Left tackle Rodger Saffold has a sprained MCL in his right knee which will keep him out for at least a month. This will force the Rams to move guys around out-of-position after losing one of their best linemen. Pass protecting for Bradford has already been an issue. The Rams' OL has allowed 12 sacks (tied for most) and 21 QB hits (third-most). Trading away Jackson will be tough since he was recently dinged up and given the Week 2 emergence of rookie RB Daryl Richardson. The most (and only) reliable fantasy option on this team may be WR Danny Amendola @DannyAmendola if Jackson can't get back on track after rushing for a paltry 29 yards on 11 carries.
