New York Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis
has a torn left ACL and is out for the remainder of the 2012 season. USA Today's Mike Garafolo spoke to head coach Rex Ryan and he made it official. Ryan believes it's a complete tear and Revis will wait anywhere from two to three weeks to undergo surgery, as is the customary practice given this type of injury. Revis will be placed on injured reserve sometime in the very near future.
Fantasy Analysis:
Losing your best defender isn't going to be easy for the Jets. They were fortunate to come away with that overtime win against Miami and they will host the San Francisco 49ers in Week 3. Teams are going to immediately test the depth of New York's defensive secondary, starting with CBs Kyle Wilson
and Ellis Lankster. Wilson was a first round pick out of Boise State in 2010 while Lankster has bounced on and off the Jets' roster over the last 18 months. Fantasy owners shouldn't expect the Jets to just roll over defensively and provide big stats to their opponents, but everyone will be watching to see how they perform.
