Break out your anatomy textbooks, Buffalo Bills running back C.J. Spiller
has suffered a sprained acromioclavicular (AC) joint. What this means is that the league's third-leading rusher will be forced to miss the next one to two weeks after leaving Buffalo's 24-14 win over the Cleveland Browns in Week 3. CBS Sports' NFL insider Jason La Canfora reported the diagnosis via Twitter. Also, it was recently announced by head coach Chan Gailey that RB Fred Jackson
should likely return to practice later this week.
Fantasy Analysis:
It would be great for the Bills if Fred Jackson could return and play in place of Spiller. Once Spiller returns though, he's still the man. He would likely be leading the league in rushing and be fantasy's top back if he were able to finish on Sunday. For those looking to capitalize on these injuries, add RB Tashard Choice
, formerly with the Dallas Cowboys. Although he lacks big-play explosion, Choice can be a reliable between-the-tackles runner that can make the first man miss. The Bills are third in rushing yards per game so straying far from their strengths would be a mistake. If Jackson can't play this week, Choice is an automatic must-start in most formats as a flex.
