Michael Turner had his best game of the 2012 season on Sunday, rushing for 80 yards on 14 carries and displaying long-lost burst during a fourth-quarter touchdown run. Yet, there are still reasons for fantasy owners to be down on Turner following that performance. For one, he played just 32 snaps against the Chargers, two fewer than his backfield mate Jacquizz Rodgers
, who scored a receiving touchdown. Turner had just 16 touches during the game compared to Rodgers' 15.
Fantasy Analysis:
It's not really damning; it's just a sign of the times. Turner continues to not really fit in this style of offense. It says a lot when the Falcons open up a 20-point lead at halftime and get the ball into Turner's hands only 16 times. Rodgers' role continues to grow. I wouldn't say he's starter-worthy yet; he's still more of a shaky flex. But the arrow is pointing up. Turner has carved up the Panthers throughout his time with Atlanta, but I think he's just a mid-range RB2 this week.
