His 91-yard touchdown run on Sunday looked like the old Jamaal Charles
. He got to the second and third levels of the defense within a blink and was completely uncatchable once in the clear. It was as if Charles had suffered a torn ACL a little more than 12 months ago. But after Sunday's win in New Orleans, Charles admitted that he didn't fully trust his surgically repaired knee before the Saints game.
"It really hit me when I started getting the runs," Charles said. "I started trusting myself.
"I kind of feel like the old me, especially breaking that long run and finishing it. It's motivating me more that I still have my speed and I still can run the long ones."
Fantasy Analysis:
What is more impressive for Charles? The 288 yards from scrimmage or 39 touches. Even though Charles was gaining chunks of yards at will against the Saints' defense, I was shocked to see him get that much work. It's not like Charles is the biggest runner in the league, and yeah, he did have major knee surgery about a year ago. Peyton Hillis
left this game with an ankle injury and was wearing a walking boot on Monday. As long as he's sidelined, the Chiefs seem to have no reservations of limiting Charles' workload. He's a solid RB1 this week at home against the Chargers.
