Pittsburgh Steelers outside linebacker James Harrison
, the 2008 NFL Defensive Player of the Year, suffered a setback with his injured left knee. Still recovering from a surgery he had done on August 15, his knee adversely reacted after a practice. He left the facility on Wednesday because "his knee bothered him." Harrison sat out the majority of the spring and the surgery was done to remove miniscus that was believed to cause swelling. Currently on the PUP list, he doesn't appear to be ready just yet.
Fantasy Analysis:
Harrison has been a steady IDP player for most of his career although he has regressed statistically in the last few years. Couple that with the five games he missed last season and the Steelers have been forced to groom a successor. That battle has been between Chris Carter
, a fifth-round pick in 2011, and Jason Worilds
, a second-round pick from 2010. Neither player is ready for the IDP spotlight just yet but Pittsburgh has been developing productive linebackers for years now. The Steelers defense isn't quite living up to its own standards this year and must play more consistently after allowing both the Broncos and Raiders to eclipse 30 points on the road.
