Arizona Cardinals running back Beanie Wells will be missed for a minimum of seven games after being placed on the NFL's new injured reserve/designated for return list. Wells is out with a turf toe injury. The former Ohio State Buckeye will be able to resume practice on Nov. 7 and play on Nov. 25 in Week 12 against the St. Louis Rams. With him sidelined, the Cards will fall back on second-year back Ryan Williams
.
Fantasy Analysis:
With every loss, there is an opportunity for a player to step up. Williams will have that opportunity as the team's No. 1 option after missing the entirety of his rookie season because of a ruptured patella tendon. The former Virginia Tech Hokie rushed for 83 yards on 13 carries last week against Philadelphia. The Cards will of course also be relying on LaRod Stephens-Howling
, a fourth-year vet largely known for his role as a change-of-pace back for the Cards. Williams should be added immediately if hasn't already been although Arizona's offensive line needs to do a much better job providing running lanes for their often struggling running game.
