Tight end Kellen Winslow's time with the Patriots didn't last long. Nine days to be exact. Winslow was released by the Patriots on Thursday, which is what he asked for, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. The move was going to come sooner or later anyway. Maybe sooner since Schefter passes along word that tight end Aaron Hernandez
is "healing quicker than expected" from his ankle sprain.
Winslow caught one pass for 12 yards during his time in New England.
Fantasy Analysis:
Hernandez will sit out at least one more week, but it sounds like he could make his return by Week 5. Wes Welker owners, pay attention to his progress. As I've said before, I don't think it's any coincidence that Welker's recent success on the field has occurred with Hernandez inactive.
Winslow was never a fantasy option.
