Matt Forte
's sprained ankle held him out of last week's game, but after a couple of days of limited practice, there's some promise that he will play Monday night against the Cowboys. Bears head coach Lovie Smith wouldn't say a whole lot but did say that Forte is getting healthier.
"Matt Forte continues to get better," Smith said Thursday. "Being able to do a little bit more each day."
There was some speculation earlier this week that Forte's running mate, Michael Bush
, had a shoulder injury. But he is not on the team's injury report.
Fantasy Analysis:
A couple of Bears beat writers expressed optimism Thurday that Forte would be able to play. The Tribune's Brad Biggs said he expects Forte to give it a go, "barring a setback." The Bears still have two practice days in front of them, so we should know where Forte stands for Week 4 by Saturday. Michael Bush would be a RB2 if Forte can't play.
