Giants wide receiver Hakeem Nicks missed Week 3's win over the Panthers due to ongoing soreness in his surgically repaired right foot. But now he has a new problem, a knee problem, and it will likely keep him out of Sunday night's matchup against the Eagles. Nicks is listed as doubtful on the team's official injury report. He was able to practice on Thursday, but sudden swelling in the knee set him back. He wasn't expected to practice Friday regardless.
Fantasy Analysis:
If you dropped Ramses Barden
this week, thinking that Nicks would be fully recovered in time for the Eagles' game, you might want to pick him back up. This is such troubling news for Nicks, who has been hampered by knee, leg and foot injuries for seemingly his entire pro career. Get him out of your lineups. We'll see how he feels next week, but this is the second time in two weeks that Nicks has seen his high hopes of playing unexpectedly dashed late in the practice week. You just never know if he's going to be available until kickoff.
Domenik Hixon
, who didn't play versus the Panthers due to a concussion, is expected to be active Sunday night. He appears ahead fo Barden on the Giants' depth chart, but I have to think that Barden made quite an impresson on the coaches after that outstanding performance last week. It's risky but with Nicks likely out, I think Barden is worth a WR3 spot, even with Hixon on the field.
