Lions RB Mikel Leshoure questionable; QB Matthew Stafford is fine

Matthew Stafford @Staff_9 and Mikel Leshoure @MikelLeShoure25 are expected to play Sunday versus the Minnesota Vikings, but only one of them is a sure thing. That's Stafford, who entered the week with a hip injury but practiced on Thursday and Friday and didn't look to be hindered at all, according to beat writers.
Leshoure was on the practice field for each of the three sessions this week, but he was limited each day because of a sore groin muscle. He is officially questionable for the game.

Fantasy Analysis:

The only reason why Stafford concerns me is the fact that he hasn't thrown more than one touchdown pass in any game this year. However, the Vikings' pass defense is very average, and Stafford remains a rock-solid QB1. That's not to say he is a must-start. If you have someone such as Matt Ryan or RGIII, I would use either over Stafford.
Again, Leshoure is expected to give it a go, but you just knew he was going to get dinged up after getting a monster workload in his first football game in more than a year and a half. I think Leshoure is still an RB2 because he's probably going to get 16-20 touches, but I expect both Joique Bell @JoiqueBell and Kevin Smith @kevinsmith34 to be involved this week.

Who do I start this week: Michael Crabtree or Ramses Barden? I could also start Jeremy Maclin. What do you think?

If Leshoure plays, I think both of you should start him. I certainly like him more than LaFell or Olsen if he's active. And it looks like Forte/Bush are both going to play against a solid defense, clouding the fantasy prospects for both. I don't expect 30 touches from Leshoure again, but he should get 16-20. Good enough to be in your lineup.

@Texas: I would actually start Maclin, and it's not that close. He seems healthy -- he's listed as probable on the injury report -- and always seems to produce when he plays. Plus, the Giants' secondary is a mess. Maclin has much more upside than Crabtree and Barden.

What would you say about Leshoure vs. Cedric Benson? New Orleans has been dominated on the ground lately, so that is making me lean towards Benson. That being said, I feel like it is more certain Leshoure will get the carries and he is more reliable then Benson, plus the Packers may be throwing all day to keep up with the Saints offense (assuming they get it together).

I've got A. Morris, Leshoure and S.Jackson to chose 2 rb spots for. Right now i'm with Morris and Leshoure basically because Leshoure looks more probable. Is there any reason to pick Jackson over these 2?

How would you rank to start this week between Leshoure, Ridley, Gore and Murray?

I would start Leshoure if he plays. Would anyone play Rivers with a good match up at KC over Stafford?

@kniceguy: Gotta go Benson. He'll still get plenty of carries, so that's not a worry of mine. Great, great matchup and no injury worries.

@milk: If all three are active, it's gotta be Morris and Leshoure. S-Jax is clearly not healthy and had to miss some time during last week's game to rest his sore groin muscle. To answer your question: No, there is no reason to pick Jackson over those two.

@desertrat: It's close, but I'd say Gore, Ridley, Murray, Leshoure. Murray is probably higher up on more people's lists, but he has a very tough matchup, and his O-line does him no favors.

@Markhahn: This is a decision that should be made closer to game time. If Leshoure plays, start him. If he's inactive, go with Washington. Hawkins scores TDs, but I still don't trust him since he sees so few targets every week and plays just half the snaps. Jackson is too injured for me to trust.

@businesschoice: I don't think Stafford is a must-start, but he's a better start than Schaub right now. Don't worry about whom your opponent has; just put your best lineup out there. I gotta go with Colston at flex because the Saints will be throwing ALL DAY. There might be 70+ points in that game. But this is a do-or-die game with Colston for me. I'm sick of these mediocre stat lines.

@pansies: It's very close. But I gotta go with Dez. I still think he's going to turn a corner. It's a MNF game, which is always fun. Leshoure has a very tough matchup -- Vikings have allowed least amount of fantasy points to RBs this year -- and he might be limited due to groin injury.
