UPDATE: Doctor believes Titans QB Jake Locker will eventually need surgery

Tennessee Titans quarterback Jake Locker has already had his left shoulder put back in place twice in this young season. A shoulder dislocation specialist told The Tennesseean that "treatment of shoulder dislocations like those the Titans quarterback suffered" would eventually need surgery. The doctor in question has a past history with the NFL, having worked for the New York Giants and Miami Dolphins. He went on to say that this injury will occur again and again until "he ultimately gets it fixed." Locker has been ruled out for Week 5.

Fantasy Analysis:

Locker is a tough guy so credit has to be given to him for playing so soon after his first dislocation. That said, this recurring problem really devalues his fantasy worth. Rather than owning a second-year quarterback who can score big points via the pass or run, now fantasy owners must deal with the prospect of shuffling him in and out of their lineups based upon daily updates on his shoulder. The Titans offensive line isn't anything special and given his propensity to tuck it and run, he's going to get hit sooner rather than later. QB Matt Hasselbeck @Hasselbeck is scheduled to start in place of Locker should he be unable to play.
