Head coach says Giants WR Hakeem Nicks' knee isn't improving

When fielding questions about the team, New York Giants head coach Tom Coughlin told reporters that wide receiver Hakeem Nicks' injured knee is not improving. Originally, his foot was the concern but that is no longer the case. Coughlin appeared frustrated when he asked how concerned he was about it and he said, "How much concern can I show you?" Should Nicks will be sidelined again, WRs Domenik Hixon @domenik_hixon and Ramses Barden @RamsesNYG will more or less split snaps. Nicks looked great in Week 2, putting up 10 receptions for 199 yards and a score. It's just a matter of getting him back on the field.

Fantasy Analysis:

This is another big boost for Victor Cruz @TeamVic, who has to be considered a certified Top 5 fantasy WR now. That said, if Nicks plays, he's a must-start. Few receivers have his kind of ceiling and Eli Manning appears content to feed his playmakers the ball a ton. It only benefits Cruz, Hixon, and Barden that the Giants have yet to really get their running game off the ground. Nicks should certainly not be dropped and depending on the offer, he's worth shopping on the trading block. If Hixon or Barden are still available in your league, they're worth stashing on your bench in case you need some bye week help.
