According to NFL Insider Jay Glazer, Rams wide receiver Danny Amendola
's life was at risk after he dislocated his right clavicle Thursday night. That's because, as Glazer reports, Amendola's clavicle popped inward, not outward, and thus came very close to cutting his aorta and trachea. Fortunately, Rams trainer Reggie Scott recognized the nature of the injury and sedated Amendola before popping the clavicle back into place.
Fantasy Analysis:
You absolutely must check out Glazer's Twitter feed for the entire story. It is just amazing. Glazer also reports this injury might be unprecedented in the league. Team doctors couldn't find another case of such a freak injury happening to another NFL player. As such, there is no timetable for Amendola's return to the field. But after learning the truth behind his injury, that doesn't seem like a big deal right now.
