Patriots RB Stevan Ridley had career-best day marred by fumble

New England Patriots running back Stevan Ridley @StevanRidley rushed for a career-best 151 yards and a score on 28 carries in Week 5. Unfortunately for him, he fumbled late in the fourth quarter in what would become a personal asterisk which frustrated him after the game. "There are still things holding (me) back, too. The fumble in the end, that kills me. That's something that you can't feel sorry about. You have to improve and focus. I have to get better at that."

Fantasy Analysis:

Ridley has eclipsed 100 yards in three of his five games this season. He ranks 4th in the NFL in rushing yards (490) and is tied with five other players to lead the league with four rushing TDs. I mention this because it goes to show that Ridley is a fierce competitor. This guy puts up a career-best game and all he can talk about is the fumble. With that kind of attitude, it's no wonder he's atop the depth chart on Bill Belichick's team. Ridley has established himself, very quickly I might add, as a weekly no-brainer in fantasy football. Keep him locked into your starting lineup while he's hot.

Matt: i wanted to get your thoughts on a trade I just made with another team in a standard scoring league. The other team wanted Andre Johnson for a RB and I asked for Stevan Ridley and they accepted. I love the deal since I'm covered pretty well at WR with AJ Green, Mike Wallace and Steve Smith (Car). I looked at it like losing a guy who is on the downside (due to the amount of injuries he sustains) on a run first team and gaining a guy with really good upside since it looks like NE has the running attack now to compliment their passing attack. And now I can run Ridley with MJD as my other back.
