After downplaying his injury after Sunday's loss to the St. Louis Rams, it turns out that Arizona Cardinals running back Ryan Williams
will require surgery on his left shoulder and will miss the remainder of the 2012 season. Head coach Ken Whisenhunt made the announcement. Williams missed all of the 2011 season because of a torn Achilles' tendon. Beanie Wells is on injured reserve and can return later this season. LaRod Stephens-Howling
's playing status in Week 6 has yet to be determined.
Fantasy Analysis:
This is terrible news for the second-year back out of Virginia Tech. He missed all of his rookie year and was presented with a great opportunity to re-establish himself with injuries piling up in Arizona's backfield. Now he can add his name to the injury report. The Cardinals will now have to turn to RBs William Powell and Alfonso Smith
should Stephens-Howling be unable to play. Powell has three carries for nine yards while Smith has seen no action so far.
