ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter reported that Green Bay Packers running back Cedric Benson
was diagnosed with a Lisfranc (foot) injury and will be out for a minimum of eight weeks. Benson had already been ruled out for Week 6. It is possible that doctors could determine that Benson requires surgery, which would keep him out for the rest of the season. Alex Green
filled-in for Benson and rushed for 55 yards on nine carries. James Starks
may also be available after recovering from a toe injury as well as Brandon Saine.
Fantasy Analysis:
If I were going after any Green Bay back, it would be Alex Green. There is still some upside with him due to limited opportunities and he played relatively well in limited action this past Sunday during the Packers' loss to the Indianapolis Colts. Starks is going to be the more popular pick-up because of name recognition but we saw a lot of him last year and he didn't do much. My style of play is to look for big-time contributors. I wouldn't classify Starks as that type. I'm never going to bench a starter for someone like Starks because it's already been established he's not the type of player to rush for 100-plus yards and two TDs even in a great week.
