Packers RB Alex Green currently atop depth chart

It has been less than 24 hours since we all found out that Packers running back Cedric Benson would miss the majority of the remainder of the season, and a chance still exists that he will miss all of it. Thus, the Packers haven't had a lot of time to decide on a firm course of action with their backfield. But the early hint is that Alex Green @AGreen_20 will get the first cracks. According to Rob Demovsky of the Green Bay Press Gazette, Alex Green is listed as the starting running back, followed by James Starks @James44Starks and Brandon Saine.

Fantasy Analysis:

However, we know that head coach Mike McCarthy isn't keen to the idea of giving Green more than 15 or so touches per game, and the Press Gazette reported Monday that Starks is still being considered for the start this Sunday night versus the Texans. This is a cloudy situation right now, one that will probably end up as a full-blown committee. But as Matt De Lima wrote in a post earlier today, Green is the most interesting of the three RBs because of his big-play ability. I'm sure this won't be the last item written this week about the state of Green Bay's backfield.
