Ravens confirm LB Ray Lewis, CB Lardarius Webb are done for season
Sunday's victory over the Cowboys was quite a costly one for the Ravens. Head coach John Harbaugh confirmed Monday what was reported Sunday night: Linebacker Ray Lewis and cornerback Lardarius Webb are going to miss the rest of the season. Lewis has a complete tear of his right triceps muscle while Webb suffered a torn left ACL.
Maybe the only good news the Ravens received today was that Haloti Ngata's knee injury is minor, and he should be able to play Sunday against the Texans. But the larger issue here is that the Ravens' defense is nothing to fear going forward. You can run on it, you can throw on it, and now they've just lost their on-field leader and best cover corner for the rest of the slate.
It's very fair to wonder if this is the end of the line for the 37-year-old Lewis? I hope not. It would be an awful way for him to go out.
