Dallas Cowboys running back DeMarco Murray
will not play against the Carolina Panthers in Week 7 due to a recent MRI that showed ligament damage in his sprained foot. There are no broken bones and he will be re-evaluated on a weekly basis. The Cowboys will rely on RB Felix Jones
with Murray out. RBs Phillip Tanner
and Lance Dunbar will compete for the backup role.
Fantasy Analysis:
The writing has been on the wall since Sunday. Thankfully this injury will only keep him out a few weeks at most, as opposed to the broken ankle injury that ended his 2011 season. Needless to say, Jones has to be on your radar. Every starting RB in the league has fantasy value. The former Arkansas Razorback has big play potential, even if throughout his career he has failed to live up to it. For deeper formats, give Tanner the slight edge over Dunbar.
