Packers lose ILB D.J. Smith for rest of season

Green Bay Packers head coach announced Monday that inside linebacker D.J. Smith is done for the 2012 season due to a knee injury that's believed to be an ACL tear. Smith had been filling-in for ILB Desmond Bishop 
. This will force the Packers to shake up their depth chart in order to find a suitable backup. Smith had been having a very good year with 39 combined tackles, two sacks, and four passes defended.
Fantasy Analysis:
This is a big blow to a team already having difficulties in run defense. Green Bay ranks 17th in the NFL in run defense and 18th in yards allowed per carry. ILB A.J. Hawk is going to have to step up in a big way. IDP aficionados should keep an eye on Brad Jones to step into the starting lineup although there's nothing to suggest he will be a reliable replacement, statistically at least.
