Chargers will scale back offense

While Peyton Manning deserves a lot of credit, the Broncos' 24-point comeback on Monday night probably wouldn't have taken place if Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers didn't turn the ball over five times. That's not a good way to win games, obviously, so head coach Norv Turner wants to "limit" his offense in an effort to cut down on those mistakes.
"Yes, we are going to limit some things we're doing, and I've got to do a better job and make sure we put things in there, and then we're calling things that have less risk," Turner said Tuesday. "They may not have as big of a reward. We may not be quite the same big-play team, but we're not going to turn the ball over."
Fantasy Analysis:
In other words, the Chargers are not going to give Philip Rivers as many chances to kill drives going forward. That's got to mean more carries for Ryan Mathews
, right? We'll see how it pans out, but Rivers now looks like a matchup play while I think Turners' words bump Mathews' fantasy value up.
