According to the latest update from BuffaloBills.com, running backs C.J. Spiller
and Fred Jackson
will continue to rotate after every two drives. They'll also sub out after long runs or if they're feeling gassed. This system comes from what Jackson and Spiller have decided is best for them. Spiller noted about the split, "That is something the coaching staff leaves up to me and Fred. I was able to set my pride aside and do what is best for me and him. I think it is best."
Fantasy Analysis:
This really makes no sense. Jackson is averaging a paltry 2.9 yards per carry. Spiller is averaging 7.6 ypc. While I can respect that they feel this is what's best since they made this decision themselves, it's bad football when one player is outproducing the other at such a high level. Spiller may have a bit of a hit-or-miss running style, but the Bills are at their best when he's on the field. Jackson should be regulated to fewer than 10 carries at most, especially since he's lost two fumbles on only 53 touches.
