Green Bay Packers wide receiver Greg Jennings
did not practice on Wednesday. He has not played since Sept. 30. In his absence, WR James Jones is playing at an extremely high level. Jones has 12 receptions for 135 yards and six touchdowns. Jennings has been resting a groin injury after pulling it twice over a matter of weeks. It's been reported multiple times that he is in a contract year and really needs to get back on the field if he wants a good deal from the Packers.
Fantasy Analysis:
Now that the Packers appear to be getting back on track offensively, it only further dilutes the notion that Jennings is an elite Top 5 quality receiver. He's good, no doubt, but should the Packers pay him a big-time contract given all the talent they already have stockpiled on offense? Probably not given his injury history. Hopefully fantasy owners have not given up on Jennings just yet. He's worth starting once he's healthy enough to play, it's just a matter of when, not if. Continue starting Jones while Jennings sits out.
