ESPN's Adam Schefter is reporting that there is "not a lot of optimism" that New Orleans Saints tight end Jimmy Graham
will play Week 7. This is in stark contrast to a Wednesday report from Pro Football Talk that a team source told them Graham would be active. The third-year star is currently listed as questionable and did not practice Wednesday.
Fantasy Analysis:
Fantasy owners should have a contingency plan in place if Graham does not play. With six teams on bye, which would include Tony Gonzalez
, Jacob Tamme
, Brent Celek
, and Antonio Gates
, the pool of viable tight ends is very thin this week. When sifting through the waiver wire, don't forget to pay close attention to matchup. If Graham can't go, it's a big fantasy bump to all of the Saints' receivers. Looking ahead, Graham will likely end up a game-time decision.
