The Chargers put kicker Nate Kaeding on injured reserve Monday. It marks the end of his time with the Chargers, but according to Kevin Acee from U-T San Diego, Kaeding's season probably isn't over. The Chargers are required to release Kaeding once his groin injury has healed.
"Figure Kaeding kicking for someone else in a few weeks," Acee tweeted.
Fantasy Analysis:
Nick Novak has been kicking in place of Kaeding for the past three weeks. He has made five of six field-goal attempts and is 10-for-10 on extra points. Novak continues to be a fine fantasy play. Kaeding was one of the top kickers in fantasy a few years ago, but injuries in 2011 and 2012 have derailed his career. Kicker scoring is always unpredictable, but it'll be worth watching where Kaeding ends up once he is healthy. He has converted all seven field-goal attempts in three games this season.
