While his overall numbers from Sunday's game against the Cowboys may not show it -- 13 touches for 46 yards -- the Panthers had planned to use Jonathan Stewart
as their "clear featured back." According to the Associated Press, head coach Ron Rivera wanted to give Stewart "a shot as the workhorse running back."
Fantasy Analysis:
But as the story has gone with basically the entire Panthers offense this year, things didn't go quite as planned. Meanwhile, DeAngelo Williams
saw just two carries in this game and has rushed just eight times for 10 yards in the past two weeks. For now, Stewart looks to be the man you most want to own out of this backfield for fantasy purposes, but Stewart, Williams and Mike Tolbert should be kept on your bench in Week 8 as the Panthers travel to Chicago to face the Bears.
