A team source has told ESPN's Adam Schefter that Jaguars running back Maurice Jones-Drew
does not need surgery for his sprained foot, meaning he doesn't have the dreaded Lisfranc sprain. However, the team still expects Jones-Drew to miss "multiple games." He suffered the injury on his second carry during Sunday's game against the Raiders. Rashad Jennings
will be the Jaguars' starting running back for as long as Jones-Drew is out.
Fantasy Analysis:
So, that's a bit of good news. A Lisfranc sprain would have almost certainly meant the rest of the season for MJD. Right now, a two-to-three-week absence seems like a best-case scenario. Jennings will most likely get to start against the Packers, Lions and Colts over the next few weeks. Because of his solid workload and ability as a runner and as a receiver, Jennings is a top-25 RB in fantasy.
