Washington Redskins wide receiver Pierre Garcon
has been diagnosed with a plantar plate tear. There is no definite timetable for his return and he is considered out on a week-to-week basis. "We don't know what's going to happen with Pierre," head coach Mike Shanahan said. "I'm taking this day-by-day, listen to the doctors, see what they recommend, and obviously I'm not going to force somebody to play if the doctors don't think he is ready or Pierre doesn't feel like he's ready."
Fantasy Analysis:
This is a tough injury to come back from and even if he does return after Washington's bye in Week 11, this injury will linger. For players away from the ball that rely on speed, explosion, cutting, and quickness, any serious foot injury can prematurely end a season. Fantasy owners shouldn't expect Garcon to return anytime soon. Since Fred Davis
has been lost for the season, the Washington receivers to own are Leonard Hankerson
and Santana Moss
.
