According to Browns head coach Pat Shurmur, running back Trent Richardson put in "his third good day of practice" on Friday.
"[Richardson is] better this Friday than he was last," Shurmur said after practice. "I can't tell you what's going to happen Sunday, but he had a good practice. ... I think we've just got to make our decisions based on where he is health-wise. The good news is you always play more than one running back. We'll just see how he's doing and then put the roster together with those things in mind."
Richardson has been dealing with a rib cartilage injury for the past couple of weeks. He gained just eight yards on eight carries last week against the Colts.
Fantasy Analysis:
Another really tough call for fantasy owners right here. Richardson has been an RB1-quality player this year, but those ribs forced Shurmur to bench him prior to halftime last week. He's not 100 percent, and now he will face a Chargers team that ranks second in the league in run defense. But if he's active on Sunday morning -- and it appears he will be -- can you really sit him? It all depends on your options, of course. Right now, fearing another setback from Richardson, I am leaning toward starting Jonathan Dwyer over him. But I do not feel confident, one way or the other.
