Due to the impact of Hurricane Sandy along the East Coast, the National Football League has extended the trade deadline from 4 PM EST Tuesday to 4 PM EST Thursday. The league offices in New York and multiple teams are closed because of the weather. Rumors of trades involving Jared Cook, Dwayne Bowe, Steven Jackson, and DeAngelo Williams have dominated the news and social media.
Fantasy Analysis:
An extra two days is unlikely to prompt a great deal of trades or more trades than usual. On the other hand for fantasy owners, now is a great time to evaluate your team with the upcoming playoffs looming. Figure out which of your players has a tough schedule during your league's playoffs and see if you can't strike up a deal for a player currently undervalued. If you know that you're not going to start your backup QB, roll the dice and trade him away if he has any value. It's a risky move in case he gets injured, but you just might acquire a starting RB or WR that could put your team over the top.
