A recent report from The Nashville Tennessan says that Tennessee Titans tight end Jared Cook
is seeking a trade. Cook will be a free agent in 2013 and given his request, he appears wholly uninterested in re-signing. Cook played in only 25 of the Titans' 59 offensive snaps on Sunday. He is averaging about five targets per game and likely wants to make a bigger splash before ending any negotiations for a new contract.
Fantasy Analysis:
Cook's big liability is his blocking. Even though he's still accumulating decent receiving totals, he's not on the field enough to merit the big contract he likely desires. Tennessee should make the deal, but how much would a team be willing to offer without any guarantee that Cook would re-sign after this season? Sign-and-trade deals are pretty rare in the NFL though, so it remains to be seen if anything will come of this announcement. It would only boost Cook's fantasy value if he were to switch teams, assuming he doesn't end up joining a team with an already established star at the position.
