Redskins wide receiver Pierre Garcon
hasn't played since Week 5 because his right foot injury -- officially being called a plantar plate tear -- and won't play this week against the Panthers. Head coach Mike Shanahan said Monday that he would "like" for Garcon to play this Sunday, but he acknowledged that a return after the team's Week 10 bye is "more likely."
Fantasy Analysis:
Maybe I entitled this post wrong; the Redskins are hoping more than aiming. It's far from a lock that Garcon will play in Week 11, and he may still opt for season-ending surgery if rest is not enough for his foot. Leonard Hankerson
, Josh Morgan and Santana Moss
will continue to see more playing time and targets while Garcon rehabs. The 'Skins could certainly use their true No. 1 wideout, especially after the rest of their receivers forgot to bring their hands to Sunday's game in Pittsburgh.
