Pittsburgh Steelers running back Jonathan Dwyer
may have rushed for over 100 yards in two consecutive games, but he will be unable to practice on Wednesday because of a quad injury. RBs Rashard Mendenhall
and Isaac Redman
are expected to begin limited practices this week with a potential return for both. This will only further complicated a full backfield. Dwyer has 229 rushing yards on just 34 carries in his last two games.
Fantasy Analysis:
Dwyer is averaging 6.7 yards per carry in his last two games but it is worth noting those performances came against two below-average run defenses. Assuming that Dwyer is the featured back, he's certainly worth a start against the New York Giants' 19th-ranked run defense. Redman and Mendenhall have not played since Oct 11. For now, Redman might end up being the starter although it's best to wait until later in the week to see how these injuries play out.
