The Dallas Morning News has pointed out that Dallas Cowboys running back Felix Jones
has two notable injuries to his knee and shoulder. The early diagnosis is that the former Arkansas Razorback should start in Week 9, but it's possible that backup RB Phillip Tanner
could see an expanded role in order to protect Jones from further injuries. RB DeMarco Murray
did not practice on Thursday and is likely, though not officially, out for Week 9 because of a foot injury. WRs Dez Bryant
and Kevin Ogletree
did not practice Wednesday and were limited Thursday.
Fantasy Analysis:
The Cowboys will face Atlanta on Sunday night and it could be the final nail in the coffin for their slim 2012 playoff chances. Injuries are piling up at too many key offensive positions. Against a very good Falcons team that may jump out to an early lead. relying on a split backfield option like Tanner or Jones should be avoided if possible. Bryant's hip/groin injury has lingered for multiple weeks while Ogletree has done almost nothing since his breakout Week 1 performance.
