More information about Darren Sproles
' broken hand is finding light. Sources with the Saints have told ESPN's Chris Mortensen that Spoles is expected to miss 4-6 weeks after undergoing surgery to fix the fracture. However, there is optimism that Sproles might be able to return a little sooner than that. Sources also said the break occurred in Sproles' left hand, up near the wrist.
Fantasy Analysis:
Interim head coach Joe Vitt has kept details to a minimum, so we're left to go on with what inside sources say. Right now, it looks like Sproles has a shot to return by Week 13. Considering he is more of a receiver than a runner, playing with a cast over the hand might not be a realistic possibility, so Sproles may have to wait until the hand is fully healed before playing again. Pierre Thomas
and Mark Ingram
stand to be the main two beneficiaries with Sproles out, but Ingram still isn't very appealing. On the contrary, Thomas could be an RB2 for the next month or so. He definitely is this week against the Eagles.
