Carolina Panthers running back DeAngelo Williams
, the subject of trade rumors all throughout last week, only played in 18 snaps during Sunday's win against the Washington Redskins. In his last four contests, the former University of Memphis back is averaging only six carries per game and no receptions. A 30-yard touchdown run in the first quarter salvaged what could have been a very poor performance since Williams only rushed for seven more yards afterward. Jonathan Stewart
had 10 carries, Cam Newton had eight, and Mike Tolbert had three.
Fantasy Analysis:
Carolina has given Stewart the majority of carries in recent weeks, but he hasn't been able to quite make the most of it. Newton handled a goal-line carry that he took into the end zone so that startegy leaves very few fantasy points to the Panthers' backfield. Both Stewart and Williams are currently outside the Top 40 at their position in standard scoring leagues and neither player is likely worth a start, let alone a roster spot, heading into the second half of the regular season.
