ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Sunday night that Oakland Raiders running back Darren McFadden
had suffered a high-ankle sprain that will likely keep him out on a week-to-week basis. Backup RB Mike Goodson
also sustained an ankle injury. McFadden was injured on his first carry of the game and re-aggravated his ankle during the second quarter. At this time, there have no official reports concerning the results of his upcoming MRI, which will provide a better timetable for a potential return. Oakland's doctors did not feel it necessary to X-ray Goodson's ankle and there has been no updates regarding his potential ankle sprain.
Fantasy Analysis:
If McFadden and Goodson can't play, the Raiders must turn to second-year RB Taiwan Jones
. There are no backs, excluding fullbacks Marcel Reece
and Owen Schmitt
, behind Jones on the depth chart. McFadden missed 19 games in his first four seasons in the NFL, including nine games in 2011. After a promising 2010 campaign where McFadden had 1,664 total yards and 10 TDs, compounding injuries have robbed the former Arkansas back from becoming one of the game's elite.
