Donnie Avery out four to six weeks with foot injury.

The Rams were excited to have speedy second-year receiver Donnie Avery @donnieavery become their No. 1 wideout. That excitement has to be tempered now by news that Avery is in jeopardy of missing the start of the regular season with a foot injury.
According to stltoday.com, Avery experienced discomfort in his left foot when he woke up Saturday morning, but an X-ray showed no fracture. However, an MRI exam taken after Avery sat out Sunday morning's practice was worse than the team expected.
With Torry Holt now in Jacksonville, Avery was getting ready to lead the Rams' receiving corps and was having a solid camp. He caught 53 balls for 674 yards and three scores in his rookie season.

This is tough news for the Rams, who don't have much going for them on offense anyway, outside of Steven Jackson. Avery's MRI didn't show a fracture, but even if it is a mid-foot sprain or something to that extent, those injuries have a tendency to linger. He may miss a couple of weeks, but this is something that Avery may feel all season long.
Also (as if any injury is good news), this one is especially bad news for Avery, whose speed is critical to his success.
In an effort of being more safe than sorry, draft Avery as if you expect him to miss a few games early in the season.
A couple of 24-year-old receivers, Laurent Robinson @LaurentRobinson and Keenan Burton, will probably become the Rams' top two pass catchers, but you don't want any part of them right now unless you are in the deepest of leagues.
