Report: Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger out, nothing official yet

FOX's Jay Glazer is reporting that Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger will not play in Week 11 against the Baltimore Ravens. Big Ben is dealing with multiple injuries (ribs, shoulder). No official word from the Steelers has been announced yet. Roethlisberger has played through injuries in the past, so the cumulative effects of these injuries must be pretty serious.

Fantasy Analysis:

Backup Byron Leftwich will start if Roethlisberger does not play. The former Jacksonville Jaguar grows roots in the pocket and Baltimore may be able to get their defense back on track with sacks and turnovers. The Steelers (6-3) are currently the sixth and final seed in the AFC playoffs. Fortunately for them, the next three teams competing for a wildcard spot are 4-5. So while winning still isn't an option, one game isn't a dealbreaker but a loss would make it extremely unlikely they earn an opening round bye. Losing Big Ben would downgrade the fantasy scoring potential of all of Pittsburgh's offensive playmakers.
