Steelers QB Byron Leftwich injures ribs, will be 'out for a while'

CBS Sports Jason La Canfora tweeted that the Pittsburgh Steelers are "concerned" about Byron Leftwich's rib injury. They think he "will be out for a while" and QB Ben Roethlisberger is doubtful (at the moment) for Week 12. The only other quarterback on their roster is veteran Charlie Batch @CharlieBatch16. This rash of injuries will likely force Pittsburgh to work out and seek an emergency backup.

Fantasy Analysis:

Pittsburgh narrowly lost Sunday night to the Baltimore Ravens and now find themselves fighting for a wildcard spot. Luckily for them, the AFC is top heavy with only six teams having a winning record at the moment. Nonetheless, if Roethlisberger and Leftwich are out for another week or two, it would leave the door wide open for a team like Cincinnati to move up the standings. Leftwich is far from a reliable fantasy starter, so if he does play, leave him on the waiver wire.
